Whitecaps FC Academy Centres are a network of regional training hubs linked through key staff, curriculum, and standards that provide professional supplemental club training for serious, motivated players. Whitecaps FC currently have a network from coast to coast, including locations in Kamloops, the Kootenays, Manitoba, Northern BC, the Okanagan, Squamish, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island, as well as in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, London (Ontario), Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. Lower Island Academy Centre
Name: Niklas Hallam
Birth Year: 2005
Hometown: Victoria What her coaches say: "Niklas has a very enthusiastic approach to soccer. He likes to get the ball and be creative. He has flourished in training and his decision making is becoming quicker. Niklas is also an intelligent player and is well liked within the group. Great job!"
Name: Brooke Evans
Birth Year: 2003
Hometown: Victoria What his coaches say: "Brooke is showing tremendous progression each session: she listens, works very hard, and is producing fantastic on-field results. These training habits are key and she is a very influential player on the soccer field. Keep up the good work!"
Upper Island Academy Centre
Name: Kodi Hammill
Birth Year: 2008
Hometown: Qualicum Beach What his coaches say: "Kodi has a brilliant personality and energy which he transfers onto the field seamlessly. He always wants the ball and continually plays in a positive manner. Kodi has been a fantastic addition to the program this Fall!"
Name: Marcus Walker
Birth Year: 2002
Hometown: Qualicum Beach What her coaches say: "Marcus has progressed exponentially in the past year. His ability to receive in tight areas and make decisions at speed has grown immensely. He makes thoughtful runs and always looks to be involved in the play. Marcus is a keen student of the game which will enable him to build on a great year. Congrats Marcus!"
Kamloops Academy Centre
Name: Luke Fabbro-Smith Birth Year: 2003
What his coaches say: "Luke has been in our academy from the outset. We are very happy to see his progression in this time. His work ethic and attitude has been excellent and he continues to improve and excel in this setting. He is very quiet by nature but is really a fierce competitor and strives to get better every session. As a coaching staff we are pleased to have him in our academy and watch him grow."
Name: Raiya Matonovich Birth Year: 2007
What her coaches say: "Raiya's work ethic and attitude is infectious. Although small in stature, she is not afraid to get out of her comfort zone and battle anyone, any size! She loves to come to training and wants to develop. She has come a long way over the last two years and wants to continually learn and put the time and effort to succeed. With her attitude and love for the game she will continue to develop to become a very strong player."
Okanagan Academy Centre
Name: Conrad Halloran Birth Year: 2005
What his coaches say: "Conrad has a fantastic attitude towards training and learning and he is making great improvements to his game. We look forward to working with Conrad through the winter and seeing him develop further."
Name: Joshua Rocca Birth Year: 2007
What her coaches say: "Joshua has been performing very well in recent weeks. We are extremely pleased with his hard working attitude and we are seeing good improvements in his game."
Saskatchewan Academy Centre
Name: Jacob Houmphanh Birth Year: 2005 What his coaches say: "Jacob has shown great progress in his training both with the U-12 Prospects as well as additional sessions with our U-14 Reserve Program. Jacob brings a professional approach to training, loves being on the ball and leads his peer group to new standards!"
Name: Claire Stillwell Year of Birth: 2000 What her coaches say: "Claire has been very consistent in her training this past month. She has taken a leadership role in motivating and leading by example with her play on both the attacking and defensive sides of the ball."
Sea to Sky Academy Centre
Name: Kenta Tanaka Birth Year: 2004
Hometown: Whistler What his coaches say: "Kenta has shown continuous improvement at every session. His determination to improve is apparent in the way he shows up ready to train and puts 100% into sessions. Kenta's hard work ethic coupled with his attention to coaching points are showing in his improved player habits during training. Keep up the good work Kenta!"
Name: Isabelle Chafe Birth Year: 2004
Hometown: Whistler What her coaches say: "Isabelle is a pleasure to have in the academy. She is a very intelligent player who has great anticipation for different moments in the game. She applies herself well to the training sessions and has an obvious love of the sport. Isabelle is technically improving on a weekly basis and it is rewarding for her coaches to observe her development to date. Well done Isabelle!"
