Club de Foot Montreal News Release

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact unveiled on Monday its list of 11 protected players for the Expansion Draft, set to take place on Tuesday at 2pm ET. Atlanta United and Minnesota United FC, making their debut in MLS in 2017, will have the opportunity to select five players each from those left unprotected by all teams currently in the league.

The Impact protected goalkeeper Evan Bush, defenders Laurent Ciman, Victor Cabrera, Ambroise Oyongo and Hassoun Camara, midfielders Hernan Bernardello, Marco Donadel, Ignacio Piatti, Andres Romero and Johan Venegas, as well as striker Matteo Mancosu.

Generation Adidas players, who have not been graduated at the end of 2016, as well as Homegrown players on a club's off-budget roster at the end of the 2016 MLS Season are automatically protected. That means Academy products David Choiniere, Maxime Crepeau, Anthony Jackson-Hamel and Wandrille Lefevre are protected.

In addition, the club does not need to protect recent Homegrown signings Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla and Louis Beland-Goyette.

Once one player has been claimed from a club's non-protected roster, that club is eliminated from the Expansion Draft and may not lose any further players.
