Portland Sea Dogs News Release

Portland, Maine- Sunday, August 17th will be a special day at Hadlock Field. Following the 1:00 PM Sea Dogs game against the Harrisburg Senators, a wedding ceremony will take place at home plate. Carly Eller and Devin Ellis of Yarmouth were the winners of the "Wedding at Hadlock Field" giveaway presented by the Sea Dogs earlier this season.

The Portland Sea Dogs received more than 100 applicants for the ‘Wedding at Hadlock Field" giveaway presented by the Sea Dogs and Q97.9. Interested couples were asked to write an essay in 100 words on why they wanted to get married at Hadlock Field. The field was narrowed down to four finalists and fans were able to vote for their favorite couple.

"We are honored and blessed to be chosen for this event," Carly said when receiving the news they had won. "We owe it to our family and friends who voted. We want to thank everyone who voted for us, it is truly exciting!"

The lucky couple will exchange vows immediately following the Sea Dogs game on Sunday, August 17th and all fans in attendance are invited to stay. Lori Voornas of Q97.9 will preside over the ceremony at home plate. In addition the couple will receive 100 tickets to the Sea Dogs game for their friends and family, wedding bands courtesy of Day's Jewelers, two vouchers on JetBlue Airlines good for anywhere JetBlue flies, wedding photographs courtesy of Clare Norton Photography, and limo service provided by Lilley's limousine.

Although weddings have been held at Hadlock Field previously, this is the first time that the Sea Dogs' organization has given away a wedding to a lucky couple.

Tickets for the game are still available and may be ordered online at www.seadogs.com or by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500.
