Weather No Help as Bisons Fall 4-3 in Rain-Shortened Contest

Buffalo Bisons News Release
MOOSIC, PA - Trying to snap a four-game losing streak, the Buffalo Bisons were given no help by mother nature on Saturday night, as after multiple rain delays, the game was officially called in the sixth inning with the Herd down 4-3 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
The Herd finally seemed to break out of their recent offensive funk, scoring three runs in the top of the first off RBI singles by Cullen Large and Nick Podkul, however Scranton was quick to answer the bell.
Bowden Francis made his first start since May 15 for the Herd, but was hit hard in his 2.1 innings of work, most notably by Estevan Florial who took him deep twice in two at-bats. A third solo homer, this one by Oswald Peraza, was enough to knock him from the game.
Replacing Francis was newcomer Andrew Moore, who made his Bison debut after signing with the Blue Jays as a minor league free agent earlier last month. Moore has 63.2 career major league innings with Seattle, largely back in 2017, has pitched just 3.1 total innings since 2019.
Moore pitched nicely in his debut, throwing 2.2 shutout innings while battling the elements to keep the Herd within one. Brandon Eisert followed Moore to open up the sixth, but faced just one batter before what turned out to be a permanent rain delay.
The Bisons will look to salvage the final game of the series with the RailRiders tomorrow afternoon, with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. EST.
