RHP Brian Keller (1-3, 4.53) vs. RHP Logan Verrett (4-5, 4.62)

OK, THAT'S NOT GOOD: The Rochester Red Wings dropped their fourth consecutive game to Worcester Friday night, falling 5-4 to Boston's top affiliate...RHP Cory Abbott worked four innings, allowing four first-inning runs, all of which were unearned, striking out four in the process...RHP Sterling Sharp came on in relief and logged four innings of work while allowing just a single run...CF Andrew Stevenson and 2B Jake Noll logged a pair of knocks in the loss with Stevenson smacking a triple in the process...C Taylor Gushue went 1-for-3 with a two-run, 8th-inning double to bring the Wings within a run of Worcester...with the one-run loss, the Red Wings are now 3-7 in their last 10, all of which have been decided by one or two runs...RHP Logan Verrett will toe the rubber for the Wings tonight, facing off against Worcester's RHP Brian Keller.

PUSHIN' P(ALACIOS): LF Josh Palacios went 1-for-4, picking up the first hit of the game for the Red Wings, last night, in the bottom of the fourth inning...with his knock, the lefty has extended his on-base streak to 11 games, dating back to June 19...since that date, Palacios is slashing .366/.409/.415 (15-for-41) with two doubles, seven RBI, and two walks.

THE STRIKEOUT MACHINE: RHP Cory Abbott got the start for the Wings last night, pitching four innings and allowing four runs, all of which were unearned, scattering five hits while striking out four Woo Sox batters...over his last four appearances (two starts), Abbott has allowed just three earned runs in 12.1 innings of work, good for an ERA of 2.19...during this stretch, the righty has punched out 19 batters, posting a K/9 of 13.86.

ANDREW TRIPLE-SON: CF Andrew Stevenson went 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI (34) in the loss...the lefty's seventh-inning triple was his fourth of the season, tying former teammate and current Big Leaguer Luis Garcia for the team lead in that category...with his multi-hit performance, he now has 27 multi-hit games, good for the team-high in that category and six more than his closest teammate, Joey Meneses, who has 21.

STERLING'S A STAR: RHP Sterling Sharp came on in relief of starter Cory Abbott and pitched four innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits while striking out three...in his last outing, the righty gave up three earned runs in six innings of work, picking up the Wings' 10th quality start of the season...Sharp's four innings marks just the third time that a reliever has pitched at least four innings this season (RHP Jefry Rodriguez: 4.2 IP, 6/30 vs. BUF & LHP Carson Teel: 4.2 IP, 4/23 vs. LHV).

GUSHING FOR GUSHUE: With his double last night, Wings C Taylor Gushue is now 4-for-10 with two doubles in this series versus Worcester...yesterday was the first time Gushue had an extra-base knock in back-to-back games since 9/9 & 9/10, 2021 with Iowa.

TOO MUCH FOR THE HEART TO HANDLE: Yesterday's 5-4 loss moves the Red Wings to 15-9 in one run games this season...after starting out the year 12-2 in one-run games, the Wings are just 3-7 since June 9...Rochester's last 11 games have been decided by two or fewer runs...the Wings are 3-8 over the stretch.

CAUSE OF DEATH: ERRORS: In last night's loss to the Woo Sox, Rochester committed two errors in the top of the first, causing the first four runs put up by Worcester to be of the unearned variety...in the last seven games where the Wings defense has logged two or more errors, the team is just 1-6...the Red Wings hold the six-spot for total number of errors (60) committed in the International League-East.

MINNESOTA LASTING COLD: Prior to the Wings' trip to Saint Paul, Rochester was 35-19 (16 games over .500) and led the International League-East by 3.5 games...since going to Minnesota, the Wings are 5-17 over their last 22 games and currently sit in sixth-place in the International League-East with a record of 40-36 (their worst placement in the standing since opening day)...the Red Wings are averaging just 3.1 runs per game since going to Minnesota...prior to the trip, Rochester was averaging one run more per contest (4.1).

KEEP IT NOLL-ING: After yesterday's 2-for-4 performance, 2B Jake Noll has now logged a hit in 10 of his last 11 games...the 28-year-old is 12-for-43 (.279) with two homers and a team-leading four doubles over the 11-game stretch...his seven RBI is the second most on the team over that span, one short of Andrew Stevenson (8).

VERRETT THE THREAT: RHP Logan Verrett will get the start today as Rochester looks to end a four-game skid...the veteran will attempt to build on a strong week, accumulating a 1.48 ERA (12.2 IP/2 ER, 12K) and 8.9 K/9 in two starts versus Syracuse...Verrett has one start versus Worcester this year where he went five innings, allowed just two earned runs, struck out six and earned the win....dating back to 2017, the Texas-native has a 3.24 ERA across 8.1 innings of work versus the Worcester franchise (including Pawtucket) and three separate appearances.
