
Warriors Trio Receives Hockey Canada Invites

Moose Jaw Warriors Brett Howden, Brayden Point, and Josh Brook have received invitations to upcoming Hockey Canada camps.
Brayden Point was one of 40 players to receive and invite to Hockey Canada's World Junior Summer Development Camp, which runs August 1st to 6th in Calgary.
Point, who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round in 2014, led the Warriors last season with 38 goals and 87 points in 60 games. The Calgary product has played 204 WHL games with the Warriors, he has 99 goals, 137 assists, and 236 points.
Point has taken part in several international competitions with Hockey Canada. He won a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, and gold at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. He also captured a silver medal at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, and a bronze medal at the 2014 IIHF World Under-18 Championships.
Brett Howden was one of 43 players to receive an invitation to Hockey Canada's Summer Under-18 selection camp for the upcoming 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.
Howden was selected fifth overall by the Warriors in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, in his first year in the WHL last season he finished 5th in the league in rookie scoring with 22 goals, 24 assists, and 46 points.
Earlier this year Howden captured a bronze medal for Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Under-18 Championships, in three games he recorded two goals and three points. As well, he competed at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, he finished with two goals and three points in five games.
Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 team will gather in Calgary for a selection camp July 31 to August 4, 22 players will be selected to represent Canada at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup coming up August 10 to 15 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Canada has won the annual summer tournament seven years in a row and 17 out of the last 19 years.
Josh Brook was one of 111 players to receive an invitation to Hockey Canada's Under-17 Development Camp in July.
Brook was selected fourth overall by the Warriors in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and played last season with the Notre Dame Hounds in the SMAAAHL. The Roblin, Manitoba product was second on the Hounds in scoring with nine goals and 36 points in 32 games. He also captured a bronze medal with Team Manitoba at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
Canada's national Under-17 Development Camp will be held July 29 to August 4 in Calgary, players will be selected to represent Canada at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in November.
