Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oil Kings announced their 2015 preseason schedule Tuesday, highlighted by the Border Battle when they host the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday, Sept. 6 in Lloydminster.
"We're thrilled to be able to bring Oil Kings hockey to a major part of Oil Country, and we know the fans in Lloydminster are excited to watch hometown boys like Andrew Koep, Kobe Mohr and former Lloydminster Bobcat Brandon Baddock," said Kevin Radomski, director, business operations for the Oil Kings.
"We're sure the good people of Lloydminster will cheer for the right team."
It will mark the first time the modern Oil Kings have hosted a game in the Border City. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. start at the Centennial Civic Centre, home of the AJHL's Bobcats.
The Oil Kings will also have two home preseason games at Servus Place in St. Albert, squaring off Saturday, Sept. 5 against the Red Deer Rebels and Saturday, Sept. 12 against the Calgary Hitmen. Both games will be 7 p.m. start times, and tickets will be available at the door for $10.
Edmonton will hit the road for a pair of exhibition contests as well, visiting the Hitmen on Sept. 13 and Red Deer on Sept. 18.
