Spokane Chiefs News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Hockey Canada announced Tuesday the players invited to attend the National Team's Summer Showcase beginning July 29 in Calgary. Among invited players are three Spokane Chiefs prospects in forwards Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Hayden Ostir and Ethan McIndoe. The three prospects were the Chiefs' first, second and third round picks, respectively, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
"The Spokane Chiefs are very proud of all three players and we are excited for them to have this development opportunity with Hockey Canada," said Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz. "They earned this opportunity through their play at the Canada Winter Games last February."
Anderson-Dolan and McIndoe each played for the silver medal-winning Team Alberta in February's Canada Winter Games in Prince George, B.C. Ostir earned a bronze medal with Team Manitoba.
The Summer Showcase marks the first time ever Hockey Canada has brought together all three of Canada's national men's programs in the same city at the same time. The event will include players selected for the National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp, the National Men's Under-18 selection camp and Canada's under-17 development camp. Anderson-Dolan, Ostir and McIndoe are three of 111 players (63 forwards) selected to attend the under-17 camp, which will run from July 29 through August 4.
From the under-17 camp, 66 players will be selected to represent Canada on one of three national teams at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in late October and early November of this year in a location to be determined.
