Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats are well represented at Hockey Canada's inaugural National Teams' Summer Showcase with Sam Steel (U18), Jordan Hollett (U17), Erik Gardiner (U17) and Jake Leschyshyn (U17) attending the camp. Hockey Canada announced Tuesday the 194 players invited to attend the showcase from July 29-Aug. 6 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport's Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

Sam Steel was the 2015 Pats Rookie of the Year after posting 54 points (17G, 37A) in 61 games through his first WHL season. This is an opportunity for the Sherwood Park, AB native to crack his second Hockey Canada roster. Steel was a member of Team Canada Black at the 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge where he posted three points (1G, 2A) in five games.

Jordan Hollett was the Pats' first round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The 6'4", 185 lbs goaltender finished the 2014-15 season with a 9-3-0 record for OHA Prep White, with a 2.10 goals-against average, .899 save-percentage and two shutouts. He also participated in Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence goaltending camp June 12-14.

Erik Gardiner was the Pats' second round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The Humboldt, SK native completed a strong rookie season with the Prince Albert Mintos in 2014-15, posting 45 points (20G, 25A) in 43 games. Gardiner played in two games with the Pats in 2015, picking up his first WHL assist in his first game.

Jake Leschyshyn was acquired by the Pats ahead of the 2015 WHL Trade Deadline from the Red Deer Rebels. Leschyshyn tallied 35 points (15G, 20A) in 38 games with the Saskatoon Blazers through the regular season. The 6th overall pick in 2014 impressed through his first WHL action late in the season, scoring three goals in twelve regular season games and adding a goal in nine playoff games.

The inaugural National Teams' Summer Showcase marks the first time Hockey Canada has brought together all three of Canada's national men's programs in the same city at the same time. It will include Canada's National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp (40 players), Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team selection camp (43 players) and Canada's national under-17 development camp (111 players).

"This is a fantastic opportunity for these groups to learn from and inspire each other as they all come together in Calgary," said Scott Salmond, Hockey Canada's vice-president of hockey operations and national teams. "We are looking forward to hosting the 194 players as they work towards representing Canada in international competition."
