Warriors Select Two Forwards in Inaugural WHL US Prospects Draft

The Moose Jaw Warriors selected forwards Cameron McEwan and Joshua Halliday in the 2020 U.S. Prospects Draft Lottery.

"We are excited to add Cameron and Josh to our organization.  They were two individuals that we had ranked high on our list.  Both are skilled, smart players who we targeted on," commented Assistant General Manager Jason Ripplinger.  "Cameron plays a power game; he goes hard to the net and has very good hands.  Josh plays a high-skilled game and has a very high hockey IQ."

McEwan, 5'11", 174lbs, is from Coppell, Texas and was selected with the 20th overall selection in the 1st round.  Playing with the Dallas Stars Elite 14U at the 2020 WHL U.S. Challenge, he had two goals, three assists, and five points in four games.  In 2018 - 2019, McEwan had 22 goals, 34 assists, and 56 points with the Dallas Stars (BMAAA).

Halliday, 5'9", 150lbs, is from Saugus, California, and was selected with the 25th overall pick.  Playing last season with the California Golden Bears 14 (CA14AA) he had 37 goals, 47 assists, and 84 points in 44 games.  In 2018 - 2019 with the Golden Bears 14, Halliday had 44 goals, 49 assists, and 93 points in 53 games.
