Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors will be looking to open 2024 with a win over their biggest rival.
The Warriors travel into Regina on Monday afternoon for a New Year's Day battle against the Pats at the Brandt Centre.
These two teams met on Friday in Moose Jaw with the Warriors skating to a 5-2 win over the Pats in downtown Moose Jaw. The Warriors followed up that win with a hard fought 2-1 victory in Prince Albert on Saturday.
Moose Jaw has now won three straight games with Brayden Schuurman scoring the winning goal in all three victories, pushing the team's record to 20-14-0-2 on the year.
So far in the season series against the Pats, Moose Jaw holds a 3-1 advantage in the Trans-Canada Clash, including a 2-0 record at the Brandt Centre.
The Pats enter 2024 having lost five straight after dropping a 5-3 game to Brandon on Saturday and sit ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 13-18-3-2 record.
Regina made a plethora of moves to end 2023, trading 20-year-old defenceman Parker Berge to Everett, 19-year-old forward Borya Valis to Prince George and 19-year-old import forward Alexander Suzdalev to Saskatoon.
The Warriors and Pats lock horns in the first game of 2024 at 4 p.m. on Monday.
