
Pats Battle Back to Salvage a Point

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats scored twice in the final two minutes with the net empty to force overtime and salvage a point in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Monday inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats trailed 4-2 in the final two minutes and scored twice with the goalie pulled to force overtime. Sam Oremba would bring Regina within one at 18:21 of the third and Tye Spencer's second of the game tied the contest at 18:45.
Ethan Semeiuk scored the overtime winner to lift the Warriors to their fourth straight win. The Pats dropped their sixth straight game, but during that stretch, the Pats have lost four of those six contests in extra-time, gathering six points.
Tanner Howe tallied three assists and reached career point #200. Spencer tied his career-high with two goals in a game, Braxton Whitehead picked up two assists and Oremba, and Jaren Brinson found the back of the net as well.
Atley Calvert led the way for Moose Jaw with three points (1G-2A), Martin Rysavy scored twice (both on the power play), while Semeniuk and Rilen Kovacevic rounded out the scoring for the Warriors.

First Period
1-0 Pats at 8:44 - Jaren Brinson (1), assisted by Tanner Howe & Braxton Whitehead // Brinson's shot from the left circle got through a screen and beat Unger to give the Pats a 1-0 lead on Brinson's first marker with the Pats.
1-1 Warriors at 12:15 - Martin Rysavy (12), assisted by Lynden Lakovic & Brayden Schuurman (PP) // Lakovic found a streaking Rysavy in the slot and he one-timed it past Pyne to tie the game up at 1-1.
2-1 Warriors at 19:01 - Martin Rysavy (13), assisted by Atley Calvert & Lynden Lakovic (PP) // Calvert sent the puck to the front of the net and Rysavy won a battle for the puck to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead late in the first.
Second Period
3-1 Warriors at 19:14 - Rilen Kovacevic (11), assisted by Atley Calvert & Kalem Parker // Calvert threw the puck toward the Pats goal and Kovecevic was able to win a scramble for the puck and got it just across the goal line to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead late in the second.
Third Period
3-2 Pats at 12:07 - Tye Spencer (8), assisted by Tanner Howe & Braxton Whitehead // From the right circle, Spencer spun and fired a shot that eluded Unger to get the Pats to within one at 3-2.
4-2 Warriors at 17:47 - Atley Calvert (22), assisted by Brayden Schuurman & Kalem Parker (PP) // Calvert carried the deep into the Pats zone where he threw the puck towards the Pats goal and it deflected off a defender and past Pyne to give the Warriors.
4-3 Pats at 18:21 - Sam Oremba (9), assisted by Zachary Shantz // The Pats were on an odd-man rush and Shantz found Oremba in the slot an he ripped it past Unger to get the Pats to within one at 4-3.
4-4 Pats at 18:45 - Tye Spencer (9), assisted by Tanner Howe & Ty Gibson (PP) // Howe found Spencer in the deep slot and he one-timed the puck past Unger to tie the game up at 4-4 late in the third.
Overtime
5-4 Warriors at 3:35 - Ethan Semeniuk (6), assisted by Pavel McKenzie // A breakdown in the Pats zone gave the Warriors an opportunity in deep and Semeniuk was able to chip the puck over Pyne to give the Warriors a 5-4 win.

JUST NOTES
Tye Spencer had a pair of goals and has points (3G-2A) in four straight games.
Tanner Howe picked up three assists giving him points in three straight contests and 16 points (6G-10A) in his last 10 games. He also collected his 200th, 201st, and 202nd career WHL points.
Braxton Whitehead had a pair of assists giving him 11 points (1G-10A) in nine games since returning from his injury.
Jaren Brinson scored his first goal as a Pat and his first goal of the season.
Newly acquired Ty Gibson, Zach Moore, and Tyson Buczkowski became the 1,262nd, 1,263rd, and 1,264th skaters (1,430th, 1,431st, and 1,432nd players) to play a regular season or playoff game in franchise history.
