December 5, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
The Moose Jaw Warriors countered the Edmonton Oil Kings throughout the night, but couldn't hold off the Central Division leaders in a 7-4 loss at Rogers Place.
Eric Alarie had two goals, while Logan Doust added a goal and two points in the loss.
Moose Jaw finished their three-game road trip with two out of six points, but went 2-2 over its four games in five nights this week.
Doust buried a rebound in front for his sixth of the season, which opened the scoring for Moose Jaw only 1:02 into the first period.
Then midway through the opening frame, Alarie tipped in a point shot by Max Wanner to make it a 2-0 lead for the Warriors.
The Oil Kings struck back with goals from Graydon Gotaas, Jake Neighbours and Luke Prokop just 2:17 apart to give Edmonton the lead to end the first.
Alarie picked up his second of the game just before the midway point of the second, banging the puck across the line at the side of the net.

Josh Williams restored the Oil Kings' one-goal lead just over two minutes later.
The Warriors tied the game back up on a highlight reel goal from Jagger Firkus, who broke away from Edmonton and beat Oil Kings goalie Sebastian Cossa, scoring his 12th of the year to make 4-4.
The back-and-forth continued when Edmonton went back in front when Dawson Seitz scored with 3:20 left in the second.
Jakub Demek and Jake Neighbours scored just over a minute apart late in the second to put Edmonton in front 7-4 after 40 minutes.
There were chances at both ends, but the Warriors couldn't close the gap on the Oil Kings as they lost by three.
Majid Kaddoura had two assists, while Jackson Unger made his second straight start, stopping 37 shots in the loss.
The Warriors went 0-for-5 on the power play, while finishing 2-for-4 on the penalty kill.
Moose Jaw will now return home for showdown with the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday night.
The Warriors' annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss Night, presented by Murray GM, goes on Saturday night when the Swift Current Broncos come to town.
