Walleye Notes

Ø Finished the Southern Swing! Toledo started the Friday in South Carolina when Toledo beat one of the league's best goaltenders in Jeff Jakaitis 4-3. Saturday night, the Walleye fought back from a 3-1 deficit to collect a point in a 4-3 overtime loss at Greenville. The offense exploded Sunday afternoon scoring 7 times in a 7-2 win at South Carolina.

Ø Record Setting Road Performance! By virtue of a 2-0-1 record this past week, the Walleye have reached nine consecutive games unbeaten in regulation on the road, which is a new Toledo ECHL record. The previous record was reached four different times with the last time being by the Walleye October 27 through November 25, 2012.

Ø Best of All-Time! Through 35 games played this season, Toledo has set a new record for the most points (55) by any Toledo ECHL team in history. The previous best was the 2002-03 Toledo Storm team that had a record of 25-7-3 (53 points) through their first 35 contests.

Ø Bouncing Back Again! With its win on Sunday, Toledo has a record of 10-0-0-0 in games following any kind of loss this season.

Ø Throw those Hats! Saturday, forward Martin Frk joined Tyler Barnes as the only players to reach the magical three-goal mark in a game this season. Tyler collected his hat trick back on November 28 against Orlando. It was the eighth time in Walleye history that a player has scored a trio of goals in a game. The Walleye record for most goals in a game is five set by Evan Rankin February 18, 2010 at Charlotte.

Ø A Return to the Huntington Center for a Three in Three! The Walleye start a four game home stand Friday night with an appearance by the Kalamazoo Wings. Toledo is 3-2-0 against the Wings, outscoring Kalamazoo 16-10. Saturday night is the first ever meeting between Toledo and Allen. The Americans have a record of 27-5-3 on the year and this will be the only meeting of the season. Sunday evening, the Wheeling Nailers will be in Toledo. It is only the second meeting this season between the two with the Walleye taking the first one 4-2 on December 10 in Wheeling.

Walleye Player of the Week:

Justin Mercier (3 goals - 2 assists = 5 points)
