Lukas Sutter Is Orlando Bound

The ECHL has announced that rookie forward Lukas Sutter will be participating at the All-Star game in Orlando on January 21

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have announced that Lukas Sutter will be replacing Bakersfield's Connor Jones during this week's All-Star festivities in Orlando, Florida.

Sutter, 21 is in his first pro season after he completed a five-year WHL career with the Saskatoon Blades and Red Deer Rebels. The St. Louis, Missouri born forward was drafted by NHL teams twice, once in the second round by the Winnipeg Jets and again last season in the seventh round by the New York Islanders.

Sutter has suited up for 37 games during his rookie season in pro hockey, scoring 2 goals and adding 8 assists. He leads rookies with 135 penalty minutes while also ranking fifth in the ECHL in penalty minutes.

The ECHL will host their All-Star Game festivities on January 20th and the 21st at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

The ECHL All-Star Fan Fest, presented by Walgreen's, with player appearances, interactive game, prizes, giveaways, auctions, memorabilia, and a special Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit, will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The game will be available live, January 21 at 4:00 p.m. PST on Fox Sports West in California and be rebroadcast on NHL Network on January 22 at 12:30 p.m. PST and Comcast Sportsnet California on January 27 at 5:00 p.m. PST. Former ECHL broadcaster and current Tampa Bay Lightning radio broadcaster Dave Mishkin will have the call while Orlando Solar Bears radio broadcaster Bob Mills will support in a color analyst role. Kelly Nash will be ringside and handle studio hosting duties. Samantha Piotrowski will be reporting during the intermissions.

Fans can watch Sutter by catching the game live on ECHL.TV for free by logging on, creating a new account (if you don't already have one) and use code CCMASC2015 to access the feed from Orlando. Fans tuning in via ECHL.TV or listening on 740 the Game in Orlando or on iHeartSolarBears.com will hear Wheeling Nailers broadcaster D.J. Abisalih with the call.

Teddy Bear Toss is coming up soon for the Thunder as fans will be invited to bring stuffed animals to the game on January 24 and once the Thunder score their first goal, are asked to toss them out onto the ice where they will be distributed to children in need.
