Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that F Wade McLeod has been assigned to Orlando by the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

MacLeod (5-11, 183 lbs.) has played 13 games for the Toronto Marlies this season, scoring two goals and adding three assists for five points. His only ECHL experience came last year, when he picked up six goals and one assist for seven points in five games with the Evansville IceMen. MacLeod played 20 games for the Springfield Falcons (AHL) last season, finishing with 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists). He played the entire 2011-12 season with Springfield, notching 29 points on 10 goals and 19 assists in 66 games. He made his professional debut at the end of the 2010-11 season, playing in nine games and scoring three points (1 goal, 2 assists). In his AHL career, MacLeod has 48 points on 17 goals and 31 assists in 108 games.

A native of Coquitlam, BC, MacLeod played four seasons for Northeastern University (NCAA) from 2007-2011. As a senior in 2010-11, he served as an alternate captain and had his most productive offensive season, leading his team in goals (22), assists (23), and points (45) in 38 games. MacLeod led his team in points on three occasions and finished second on the team in points once. His collegiate career includes 61 goals and 76 assists for 137 points.
