Karlsson Assigned to Jackals by Ottawa

ELMIRA, N.Y. - November 20, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that rookie forward Ludwig Karlsson has been reassigned to the club by the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.

Karlsson scored his first pro goal October 25, 2013 against the Reading Royals.

Karlsson, 22, began the season with the Jackals and played in two contests. He recorded his first professional goal in the Jackals' home opener against the Reading Royals on October 25. The Swede was reassigned by Ottawa to Binghamton on October 26. He appeared in three games with the B-Sens without registering a point. Karlsson saw his last game action November 2 with Binghamton against the Syracuse Crunch.

Karlsson signed with Ottawa as a free agent on July 25, 2013. He suited up in 49 games at Northeastern University, before turning pro, with 32 points (15 goals, 19 assists).

Karlsson has arrived in Elmira and is expected to be available to play in this week's three-in-three against the Kalamazoo Wings at First Arena.

The Jackals return home on November 22, 2013 to take on the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:05 p.m. The Jackals and the Southern Tier Tobacco Awareness Community Partnership will be celebrating the Great American Smokeout.
