Vigier's Two Goals Help Stingrays over Everblades

Estero, FL - Forward Stephan Vigier scored twice to help the South Carolina Stingrays (41-23-2-4) over the Florida Everblades (34-27-3-5) 3-2 at Germain Arena Sunday evening. The Stingrays finished the season series against the Everblades with a 5-4-0-0 record.

Vigier broke the scoreless tie 1:19 into the second period on the power play lifting a wrist shot past Everblades goaltender Trevor Cann (L, 18 saves on 21 shots) from the right-wing circle. Forwards Brett Gensler and Wayne Simpson added assists. Late in the stanza, Vigier knocked in his fourth goal of the season to give the Stingrays a 2-0 lead at 17:25 with help from forward Louke Oakley .

The Everblades fought back with two tallies in the third period to tie the game. Forward Geoff Walker slipped a shot past Stingrays netminder Allen York (W, 28 saves on 30 shots) on the power play at 3:52 and forward Cameron Burt lit the lamp at 11:12. With 3:40 to play, Stingrays forward Nick Larson broke down the left-wing boards and ripped a shot over the glove of Cann for the game-winning tally. Forward Ryan Santana added the lone assist. The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-2 on the power play while the Everblades went 1-for-3.

The Stingrays close a five-game road trip on Tuesday, April 8 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:00 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
