Stingrays Gameday: Stingrays Close Season Series with Everblades Today

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays close the nine-game regular-season series against Florida Everblades today at 5:00 p.m. at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.

Series at a Glance:

The Stingrays are 4-4-0-0 against the Everblades this season, falling 4-0 in their last meeting last night. The Stingrays opened a three-game series against the Everblades with a 6-5 shootout victory Wednesday. Forward Wayne Simpson leads the Stingrays against the Everblades with seven points (five goals, two assists).

If The Playoffs Started Today:

Including today, the Stingrays have three remaining regular-season games to play and hold the fourth seed in the ECHL's Eastern Conference. If the playoffs started today, the Stingrays battle the Cincinnati Cyclones and hold home-ice advantage for the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Game 1 would be Friday, April 18 at Game 2 is Saturday, April 19 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Everyone is a Stingrays Fan:

With a Stingrays win today, two teams have the potential to clinch a playoff berth. The Wheeling Nailers can grab a spot with a win and a Florida loss in regulation and the Greenville Road Warriors can clinch with a win and an Everblades loss. If both teams claim a spot, its leaves one remaining position, the eighth and final place, which is being fought over by the Fort Wayne Komets (8th place, 78 points, three games remaining) and Everblades (9th, 76 points, four games remaining).

The Stingrays close a five-game road trip on Tuesday, April 8 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:00 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
