Ontario Adds Vey and Roach

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced Sunday that right wing Linden Vey and rookie defenseman Alex Roach have been assigned from the Manchester Monarchs by Los Angeles and that rookie defenseman Dennis Brown has been released from his amateur tryout agreement.

Vey, has appeared in 18 games for the Kings this season, his first in the NHL, recording five points (all assists) and zero penalty minutes.

The 6-0, 189-pound native of Wakaw, Saskatchewan has played in 40 games for the Monarchs this season, recording 44 points (12g, 32a), 20 penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of +7. His 44 points and 32 assists rank second on the club. Vey had also spent the previous two seasons with Manchester, and has appeared in a total of 188 games with the Monarchs, recording 144 points (53g, 91a), after completing his junior career with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League in 2010-11.

Vey was selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.

Roach, 20, returns to Ontario after completing his junior career with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League. Roach began the season in Ontario, where he made his professional debut back in October. In three games with the Reign, Roach tallied three points, all assists, before returning to the Hitmen. The Quensel, BC native skated in 56 games with Calgary this season, earning a total of 44 points (12g, 32a). In six playoff games for the Hitmen, the defenseman added 2 points (1g,1a).

Roach is under contract with the Kings.

Brown, 24, played in two games with Ontario, going scoreless with zero penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of -2, after completing four seasons with Western Michigan University's hockey program earning a total of 65 points (8g, 57a).
