
Viewing Parties, Brew Bike Tours and More Come to San Jose for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today more fan activities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia to accompany the viewing parties at Avaya Stadium, including Brew Bike tours, outfit competitions and a passport program. As announced in May, the Quakes will show every single World Cup match on the video board at Avaya Stadium with free admission and parking, and now have more activities for fans to celebrate the largest sporting event in the world.
Viewing Parties
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will kick off next Thursday, June 14 at 8 a.m. as Saudi Arabia takes on hosts Russia. The Quakes will show every match, even the games that start at 3 a.m., on the video board at Avaya Stadium. Fans that attend the first match of the tournament on June 14 will receive Russian Blinis. The bar, also known as the Longest Outdoor Bar in North America, will open at 6 a.m. and fans that attend the first game of each day for the rest of the tournament will receive free coffee and donuts, courtesy of the Quakes.
For the matches taking place on June 15, June 16, June 17, June 23, June 27, June 28 and the Final on July 15, the Quakes may also have inflatables, food trucks, stations for fans to play the videogame FIFA18 or face painters.

Everyone that RSVPs will be entered to win a raffle prize of the day, including tickets to the Quakes vs. Manchester United friendly at Levi's Stadium the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium, and a VIP viewing package for the FIFA World Cup Final, complete with food and beverage, team jerseys and a private screening area for 10 guests.
Viewing Party Food and Drink Packages
Specific matches will also feature food specials from the countries that are playing and will be available for purchase at the viewing parties listed below.
Portugal vs. Spain on Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. - Fans can purchase a food/drink package for $15 and obtain an authentic culinary experience by indulging on a Portuguese Linguiça pork sandwich with Piri Piri sauce or a Spanish calamari sandwich. Drink options include bottled water, bottled soda or a 12 oz draft.
Germany vs. Mexico on Sunday, June 17 at 8 a.m. - A breakfast burrito package is available for $14.50 and comes with bottled water, coffee or juice.
The concessions stands will also feature a limited menu of other food items on June 15 and 17.
Viewing Party Passport Program
The Quakes are hosting a Passport Program for the World Cup Viewing Parties. For each day of the World Cup, the Quakes will offer stamps for fans that attend any of the viewings at Avaya Stadium that they can later exchange for prizes. Fans can claim their prizes from the Quakes Brand Ambassadors at the viewing parties.

Viewing Party Outfit Competition
Each day of the World Cup one fan will win a prize for best dressed. Fans are encouraged to attend the viewing parties decked out in their most supportive and festive gear for the country that they are cheering on.
Brew Bike Tours
To take the World Cup festivities to the next level, the Quakes are hosting Brew Bike tours on June 16, June 23 and July 7, making stops throughout downtown San Jose at different restaurants representing some of countries that are competing in the tournament.
Each participant will receive a complimentary beer and appetizers at each stop as the tour goes through downtown San Jose. Former Quakes players, including Joe Cannon, Kelly Gray and Marvell Wynne, will also ride along with each bike to enjoy the fun.

A Quakes-themed van with digital displays will be driving throughout San Jose for the first three weeks of the World Cup, enabling passersby the chance to watch World Cup matches as they are taking place and play FIFA 18. The van will also make appearances at Avaya Stadium for viewing parties to allow fans to play games on the digital displays.
