Club de Foot Montreal News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Montreal Impact will be looking for its second straight win, this Saturday at 8pm EDT, when the club makes its biennial visit to Toyota Stadium to face FC Dallas (TVA Sports, 98,5fm, TSN Radio 690).
"It will be a difficult and complicated game," said Montreal Impact head coach Rémi Garde. "They're an excellent team that is currently on a streak of good results. They're well-run and you can feel a strong identity emitting from the group. They did have a game on Wednesday, but most of their players didn't play. On our end, we need to continue building our team spirit. If we don't play together and we don't make sacrifices, we'll be in trouble."
Finding the road to victory
The three points earned last Saturday at Stade Saputo against the Dynamo worked wonders for the Bleu-blanc-noir. Not only did it give the team a good dose of confidence, but it also puts an end to the team's long scoreless streak. The defensive performance was on point and will serve as a base for the Bleu-blanc-noir against a team that loves having the ball at home.
"Our commitment from the Houston game can be replicated, but we're going to have to be even better going into Dallas," said goalkeeper Evan Bush. "We did well to get the result we needed to last week, but it will certainly take more to get something in Dallas. We're going to have to be much sharper and clearer on what our responsibilities are, with the same work rate we had last week."
Historically, the Impact hasn't had much success at Toyota Stadium. In three games, the club suffered three losses, the most recent being a 2-0 loss in 2016.
Nonetheless, Nacho Piatti has a goal and an assist in three games against the Toros.
"It will be a difficult task for us," said midfielder Samuel Piette. "Whenever we go to Texas, it's hard each time. I've been a few times with the national team, and I played once in Dallas. Their team is doing good right now. It will be hard, but we're all confident, especially with the win against Houston last week."
Upcoming games
The Impact will play a second game in five days on Wednesday, June 13 when Orlando City SC visits Stade Saputo for the third of four 25th anniversary commemorative games, this time to highlight local talent (TICKETS - TVA Sports, 98,5fm, TSN Radio 690) before returning the favour to the Floridians on Saturday, June 23 at 7:30pm, at Orlando City Stadium (TVA Sports, 98,5fm, TSN Radio 690).
