Independent Panel Rejects Alejandro Bedoya Appeal

NEW YORK - The Independent Panel, consisting of one representative from the United States Soccer Federation, one representative from the Canadian Soccer Association, and one independent representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has rejected the Philadelphia Union's appeal of the second yellow card issued to midfielder Alejandro Bedoya for dissent in the 19th minute of Philadelphia's game against Atlanta United on June 2 (VIDEO).

Bedoya will serve his one-game suspension in Philadelphia's next regular season match on Friday, June 8 against Toronto FC.

Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including playoffs. The Philadelphia Union have one unsuccessful appeal remaining for the 2018 season.
