Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo return to Major League Soccer action on Saturday night as they host the Colorado Rapids on Star Wars Night. Characters from the iconic Lucasfilms franchise will be on hand at the stadium, and fans are encouraged to travel from a galaxy far, far away in their best Star Wars costume to participate in a "Luke-alike" contest (all characters welcome).

On the field, Houston will be looking to snap a two-game losing skid and get back to their high-scoring ways after netting just one goal in those two losses last week.

GAME INFORMATION:

MATCHUP: Houston Dynamo (5-5-3; 18 pts.) vs. Colorado Rapids (2-8-2; 8 pts.)

TIME: 8:00 p.m. CDT

STREAM: KUBE 57 (LOCAL CHANNEL GUIDE)

RADIO: SportsRadio 610 (English); Univision Radio 1010 AM (Spanish)

HERE ARE THREE KEY POINTS YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW AS YOU PREPARE FOR SATURDAY'S MATCH:

1. CHEWIE, WE'RE HOME - The Dynamo are an impressive 16-3-4 at home under head coach Wilmer Cabrera, including a 12-1-4 mark last year. That lone defeat last year, however, came to the Colorado Rapids in Houston's first game back after Hurricane Harvey. The Dynamo will look to prove that last year's result was an aberration and to maintain their strong home form. They've won their last three league home games by a combined score of 11-4. After dropping a pair of road games last week, another big home win would be just what the doctor ordered for the Dynamo.

2. THESE AREN'T THE DROIDS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR - A big reason for Houston's struggles last week on the road was a lack of continuity along the back line. With regular right back Andrew Wenger out with tightness in his right calf, center back Adolfo Machado gone for World Cup duty with Panama, and a suspension of center back Alejandro Fuenmayor handed down hours before Houston's game at Real Salt Lake, head coach Wilmer Cabrera had to shuffle players around to make do. Fuenmayor has completed his suspension, and Wenger and center back Philippe Senderos should both be available for selection, giving Cabrera plenty of options when he fills out the team sheet Saturday night.

3. ONLY AN IMPERIAL STORM TROOPER IS THAT PRECISE - Forwards Alberth Elis, Mauro Manotas and Romell Quioto are weapons to rival any in the galaxy. Those three have combined for 16 goals and 11 assists on the year, and at least one of the trio has scored in 11 of Houston's 13 games. They've also combined for 55 shots on goal so far this year, meaning they score on one out of every five shots they take. Getting those three back on track and into shooting positions will be vital to Houston's success on Saturday night.
