
Victor Tademo joins Kernels from the GCL Twins

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Victor Tademo will join the Kernels from the GCL Twins and INF Andrew Bechtold has been placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to August 25, with a concussion. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
The Twins signed Tademo as a non-drafted free agent on September 25, 2015 and this is his third season in the Twins organization. He played 44 games for the GCL Twins this season, batting .255 (40-157) with five doubles and 15 RBI.
Bechtold suffered his concussion during the Kernels 3-1 win over Kane County on Friday. He's played in 106 games for the Kernels this season, batting .216 with 2 HR and 34 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 5th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of Chipola JC in Florida.
Tademo is active and available for today's 2:05 PM game vs. Kane County. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with five players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a seven-game home stand today against Kane County at 2:05 PM with the gates opening at 1:00 PM. The current home stand continues through Friday, August 31st.
