Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lansing Lugnuts (affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in the third game of a four-game series.

Last Game: Saturday: Dayton 4, Lansing 3. Dragons reliever Wendolyn Bautista protected a one-run lead by pitching out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the ninth inning as the Dragons evened the series. Dayton scored three runs in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie, getting RBI singles from Raul Wallace and Jeter Downs. Dragons starter Patrick McGuff allowed only one run over six innings. The win went to Dauri Moreta, who worked two innings and allowed one unearned run. Jose Garcia had a hit to extend his hitting streak to 11 straight games.

Playoff Chase: The Dragons must finish in the top two among eligible teams in the East Division in the Second Half (six teams competing; Bowling Green and Lansing ineligible). The Dragons are currently four and one-half games behind West Michigan and Fort Wayne (tied for the position) in the race for the #2 seed in the Second Half. There are eight games to play.

Alejo Lopez over his last 37 games since July 15: 48 for 133, .361, to raise his average from .247 to .319. Lopez's .361 average since July 15 ranks first among players on the 30 teams at the Single-A classification (Midwest League and South Atlantic League).

Andy Sugilio over his last 18 games: 24 for 72, .333, 2 HR, to raise his average from .255 to .271.

Jose Garcia has hit safely in 11 straight games, going 19 for 51, .373, to raise his average from .231 to .247. Garcia was selected as Midwest League Batter of the Week for the week of August 13-19.

Ryan Nutof over his last eight relief appearances: 12.2 IP, 11 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 12 SO, 1.42 ERA.
