BATAVIA, NY --- Vermont scored eight runs over the final three innings to erase a one-run deficit in an 11-5 New York-Pennn League victory over Batavia at Dwyer Stadium on Sunday evening that extended the Lake Monsters winning streak to five games, the team's longest since an eight-game win streak June 27 - July 4, 2010.

The Lake Monsters trailed 4-3 when they scored four times in the seventh, then added two runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. Vermont tied the game 4-4 in the seventh when Nick Collins scored on a Muckdog fielding error and took the lead when Skye Bolt followed with an RBI single. Ryan Howell later capped off the four-run frame with a two-out RBI bunt single to score Bolt from third.

A Collins sac fly and Brett Siddall RBI double increased the Vermont lead to 9-4 in the eighth before a run-scoring wild pitch and Seth Brown RBI single in the ninth gave the Lake Monsters a season-high 11 runs (had scored 10 runs twice). Vermont finished with 13 hits, two apiece for five different Lake Monsters, including a season-high six doubles.

Bolt finished 2-for-4 with a walk, run, double and two RBI, while Howell was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs, a double and RBI. Brown, Trace Loehr and Steven Pallares each added two hits as every Lake Monster had at least one hit except for Collins, who was 0-for-2 with three walks and a sacrifice fly.

Starter Heath Bowers allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits over three innings, while Dawrin Frias had two walks and three strikeouts in the fourth inning in his Vermont debut. Evan Manarino (3-1) also allowed two runs (one earned) over two innings for the win as five Lake Monster pitchers combined to allow just two earned runs, lowering Vermont's team ERA to a season-low 3.95 (including 1.60 during Lake Monsters five-game win streak).

Anfernee Seymour went 3-for-3 with one run and four stolen bases and Stone Garrett hit is league-leading ninth home run for Batavia (19-28), which lost its second straight after a five-game win streak. Reliever LJ Brewster (0-2) was charged with six runs (three earned) on five hits with three walks over two innings to take the loss.

Vermont (22-26) continues the three-game series at Batavia on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:05 pm before the Lake Monsters return to Centennial Field for a three-game series against the Connecticut Tigers starting on Wednesday.
