Van Der Bosch Placed on D.L., Pritz promoted from Wilmington

Portland, Maine- The Boston Red Sox today placed Sea Dogs' outfielder Matt Van Der Bosch on the disabled list. Outfielder Bryan Pritz was called-up from Single-A Wilmington to fill the roster spot. Pritz will wear #23 and will play centerfield and lead off tonight for the Sea Dogs.

The 24-year-old Pritz has appeared in 53 games for the Blue Rocks this season hitting .275 with two home runs and 22 RBI's. He began the 2005 season at Single-A Greenville where he hit .297 in 10 games before being promoted to Wilmington. At Wilmington he hit .299 and ranked 5th in the Carolina League with a .396 on-base percentage and 8th in stolen bases with 18. Pritz was signed by the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent on June 30, 2004.

Van Der Bosch is placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 18th with a left shoulder injury. It is the third trip to the disabled list this season for Van Der Bosch and second with the left shoulder injury.
