Utah Holds On 4-3 Over Las Vegas

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers 4-3 Saturday night at the E-Center.

The Grizzlies built a 2-0 first period lead in the games first two minutes and twenty seconds. Following a fight between new Utah captain Travis Rycroft and Shawn Limpright, two seconds into the game, the Grizzlies quickly responded with goals from Jimmie Kraft (2) and Tyler Liebel (4).

Following a Las Vegas power-play goal that made it 2-1 in the first, D.J. Jelitto scored his fourth goal of the season (shorthanded) and the Grizzlies had their two goal lead back at 3-1.

In the second, Matt Craig (9) added a power-play goal at 3:03 to make it 4-1.

The Wranglers made it 4-3 in the third, but Rob McVicar kept the Wranglers off the board as Utah held on for the win.

McVicar stopped 42 of 45 Las Vegas shots.

Andy Sertich (2 assists) and D.J. Jelitto (1 goal, 1 assist) had multiple-point games for Utah.

Ryan Kinasewich extended his team season-high scoring streak to six with an assist.

Utah is next in action Wednesday in Alaska. Face-off is scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
