Victoria Salmon Kings commemorate Gavin Fletcher

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today for the remainder of the season, the team will wear patches on their jerseys bearing the initials of Victoria Times Colonist sports editor, Gavin Fletcher.

Fletcher was killed in a single-vehicle accident while returning home to Nanaimo from Victoria on December 11, 2006. He is survived by wife Natalie and daughters Claudia and Sophia.

Starting tonight versus the Alaska Aces at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, the Salmon Kings dedicate the 44 games left in their 2006-07 season in memory of Fletcher, who was a passionate and professional supporter of community sports.
