The Captains Baseball Academy is holding open tryouts for travel baseball teams for the Summer of 2014. This top-tier organization will receive numerous amenities including professional instruction, clubhouse and weight room access and off-season training! Additionally, many of the teams home games will be played right at Classic Park.

Tryouts for ages 14 - 18 are Saturday, August 3 at 9 AM. Tryouts for ages 8 - 13 are Saturday, July 27 at 8 AM and Tuesday, August 6 at 6 PM. Tryouts are open to the public. However, pre-registration is encouraged.

Enrollment is open for the First Annual MVP Sportsmanship Program, which rewards young athletes for showing great sportsmanship. Athletes can be nominated for their exceptional sportsmanship throughout the calendar year by their coaches or athletic directors to earn this great award.

This program provides coaches and athletic directors with the opportunity to recognize and reward students who have done something exceptional during the course of the year. Selected honorees are invited to participate in a pre-game ceremony, during which they will be recognized on the field prior to a designated Captains game. The program also includes a complimentary ticket for the MVP Sportsman.

The Captains are hosting the third annual Cheerleading "Skippettes" Camp! The three-day camp will take place at Classic Park on Thursday, August 8, Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 from 4 PM to 6 PM for kids ages 4-16 and is limited to the first 60 participants. The "Skippettes" will perform pre-game on Saturday, August 10 at 6:15 PM. Sign up today!

Daddy - Daughter Date Night is Sunday, August 4. Dads and daughters can join the Captains at Classic for a night of fun that includes a photo frame and tiara for princesses, sundae bar and princess cupcakes from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, all-you-can-play wristband for the Kids Zone and a pre-game parade at 6:20 PM. The package is only $15! Optional food vouchers are available for only $6 each and include a hot dog or hamburger, chips and a soft drink. Orders need to be received no later than July 27.

The Captains are hosting a College Fair on Wednesday, August 28. Admission is free for high school students, who also have the chance to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship! Students are able to get tickets from their school or by contacting Jen Yorko by phone at (440) 975-8085 ext. 116 or email at jyorko@captainsbaseball.com.

Colleges and universities are able to set up tables on the concourse for only $250. Institutions attending the event also receive 25 tickets to the night's Captains game and a parking pass.
