CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union defeated D.C. United 7-0 on Friday night at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union are now in first place in the Eastern Conference with 33 points. In the first half, C aptain Alejandro Bedoya opened the scoring with a strike from the center of the box to the bottom left corner of the net, assisted by Jose Martinez. The goal makes Bedoya the ninth Union player all-time to score 20 goals for the club and the third player to score 20 goals and notch 20 assists. Forward Julian Carranza then scored on an overhead kick to the bottom left corner to give the Union a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute. Moments later in the 25th minute, Carranza followed up with his second score of the night. In the 37th minute, Alejandro Bedoya earned his own brace with his second goal of the night on a header following a set piece from Kai Wagner. Forward Mikael Uhre added a stoppage-time goal that followed a fast break by Daniel Gazdag to give the Union a 5-0 lead entering halftime. The Union's 5-0 lead at halftime ties a club record for most goals in a half, originally set in a 6-1 victory over the New England Revolution in 2019. Julian Carranza earned his first career hat trick in the 72nd minute on a shot from the center of the box to give the Union a 7-0 victory. Andre Blake earned his eighth clean sheet of the season and is now tied for the most clean sheets in the league. With tonight's victory, the Union have tied the largest margin of victory in MLS history with a seven goal differential.

The Union are back on the road at DRV PNK Stadium to face Inter Miami FC on Wednesday, July 13th (8:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
