Academy U-17 Team to Feature in LIGA BBVA MX International Youth Tournament

The Inter Miami CF Academy U-17 team, fresh off a successful season, will travel to Mexico City, Mexico in August to compete in the LIGA BBVA MX International Youth Tournament, pitting it against top teams from several countries. The team was one of just two MLS academies invited to participate in the tournament based on the strength of its performance at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup.

The event will run from Aug. 16-28, with the majority of the matches taking place at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento. The final, however, will be held at the famous Azteca Stadium.

Eight teams will participate in the tournament, splitting the event into two groups. One group will feature four LIGA BBVA MX clubs, while the other will consist of four international clubs, including Inter Miami.

Necaxa

Guadalajara

Toluca

The first portion of the tournament will see the teams compete in a Round Robin qualifying stage, following which the top team in each group will advance to the final at Azteca Stadium to determine the winner.

Matches at the LIGA BBVA MX International Youth Tournament will consist of two 35-minute halves. Only players born in 2005 or after will be eligible to compete at the tournament.
