
Tye Felhaber Signs NHL Deal with Dallas Stars

OTTAWA - Ottawa 67's forward Tye Felhaber has been rewarded for his remarkable final OHL campaign with a three-year, entry-level contract with the NHL's Dallas Stars, the two clubs announced Friday.
Felhaber, 20 and in his final year of OHL eligibility, has skated in 60 games this season for the 67's, scoring a team-leading 99 points, including 55 goals. Among OHL leaders, he ranks first in goals and is tied for second in points (99). Additionally, Felhaber is first in the League in plus/minus rating (+50) and ranks fourth in shots on goal (263). In three seasons with Ottawa, Felhaber has 192 points (99-93=192) in 163 contests, while playing in 303 games over five OHL seasons with Ottawa and Saginaw, posting 275 points (141-134=275).
The 6-foot, 189-pound forward from Pembroke, Ontario was undrafted and has made four appearances in the OHL Playoffs, recording 10 points (4-6=10) in 19 contests.
Icing one of the best teams in franchise history, Felhaber and the rest of the 67's will begin their quest for an OHL title and Memorial Cup on March 22 at 7 p.m. at The Arena at TD Place. The rest of the Round 1 schedule will be announced soon.
The Barber Poles only have four home games remaining before the end of what has been a dominant regular season performance. The club is back on home ice this Sunday when the 67's host the Mississauga Steelheads at 2 PM at The Arena at TD Place.
