Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Bulldogs lost 5-3 to the league leading Ottawa 67's Friday night at FirstOntario Centre but deserved a better fate.
The Bulldogs came out with speed and energy and Arthur Kaliyev (48) gave the home side a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 5:47 followed by Jan Jenik (11) getting a loose puck over the goal line making it 2-0 at 12:15. However, Ottawa responded with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead after the opening period.
After trading chances in the 2nd, Arthur Kaliyev (49) wristed one home from the slot at 15:42 to tie the game 3-3.
When it looked like the game might go to overtime, the 67's got a break and scored the game winner with just over 3-minutes left in the 3rd period and then added an empty netter to make the final 5-3.
3 STARS:
1) Arthur Kaliyev (HAM) 2) Marco Rossi (OTT) 3) Kyle Maksimovich (OTT)
The Bulldogs remain at home Saturday afternoon when they host the London Knights at FirstOntario Centre at 4pm.
