Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Senators outlasted Altoona and snapped their three-game losing streak with a 13-10 win Tuesday night at FNB Field. Twice in the game the Sens sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs. Every Senator position played had a hit in the game and scored. Nine different hitters on the two teams had at least two hits. Dante Bichette, Jr. had four hits and two triples while driving in three and scoring twice. Altoona had a 2-1 lead into the third inning when the Sens tallied five runs for the first of two times.
On Capitol Hill
Jackson Tetreault started and went 4.1 innings allowing nine runs on five hits. He earned a no decision.
Jordan Mills worked two-thirds of an inning to earn the win.
Andrew Lee pitched three innings and allowed three runs while striking out five.
Aaron Barrett pitched the final frame allowing two runs on three hits.
With the Gavel
Dante Bichette, Jr. went 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and two runs scored. The two triples tie the Sens franchise record.
Adrian Sanchez had three hits, two RBIs and scored twice.
Luis Garcia hit his third home run and scored twice.
Tres Barrera had two hits, doubled and scored a run.
Harrisburg went 5-for-17 with runners in scoring position.
Filibusters
- The Senators are 8-6 against Altoona.
- The have six games remaining with the Curve, two this series and the final four games of the season over Labor Day weekend at FNB Field.
- The 3:10 game is the second longest nine inning game the Sens have played this season.
On Deck
The Senators play the Altoona Curve in game two of their three-game series Wednesday at FNB Field with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:20 p.m.
