BUSCHER, BLACKBURN HONORED AS TWINS POTM INF Brian Buscher is the Twins Minor League Player of the month for June...Buscher, who was promoted to Rochester on June 21st, batted a combined .342 (38-for-111) with four doubles, seven home runs and 20 rbi for New Britain and Rochester...his slugging percentage was .568 in 32 games...Buscher was drafted in the Rule 5 minor league draft, December 15, 2006...he was originally drafted by the Giants in the third round of the 2003 First-Year Player draft...Wings righthanded pitcher Nick Blackburn is the Twins Minor League Pitcher of the month for June...in five starts, Blackburn, 25, went 5-0 with a 0.00 ERA (39.0 ip, 0 er) with two complete game shutouts ...he walked just one batter while striking out 21 and holding opposing hitters to a .197 batting average...Blackburn was drafted in the 29th round of the 2001 F! irst-Year Player draft.
WINGS TO PLAY IN TRIPLE-A ALL-STAR GAME JULY 11 Pitcher Bobby Korecky, catcher Jose Morales and infielder Matt Tolbert will represent the Red Wings in the Triple-A All-Star Game July 11 in Albuquerque. Wings skipper Stan Cliburn was previously named a coach on the club. Twins 1B Justin Morneau has 99 career home runs entering play Tuesday and is looking for number 100 on this road trip...Morneau will become just the seventh Canadian born player to reach the 100 home run plateau...here is the list of the other six: 1. The Eastern League announced the roster for the 2007 Double-A All-Star team...New Britain pitchers Tim Lahey and Jose Mijares and infielder Luke Hughes will play for the Northern Division team...the 2007 Eastern League All-Star Game will be played in Norwich on Wednesday, July 11.
