Tulsa's Booras Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jon Booras of the Tulsa Oilers is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 17-23.

Booras scored five goals in four games last week, helping the Oilers to a 3-0-1 record as the club moved into a tie for first place in the Central Division.

The 31-year-old scored once in a 4-3 shootout loss at Quad City on Wednesday before scoring a pair of goals in back-to-back games - a 4-1 win at Missouri on Friday and a 3-2 victory against Wichita on Sunday.

A native of Billings, Mont., Booras is tied for the ECHL lead with 20 points (8g-12a) and is tied for fourth in assists.

Booras has recorded 550 points (212g-338a) in 547 career professional games. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Lake Superior State University, totaling 51 points (23g-28a) in 135 games.

On behalf of Jon Booras, a case of pucks will be donated to a Tulsa youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
