Stockton's Owen Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Shane Owen of the Stockton Thunder is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Nov. 17-23.

Owen went 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .956 in two appearances last week.

The 23-year-old stopped 29 shots in a 3-2 win at Bakersfield on Thursday and made 36 saves in a 4-1 victory against the Condors on Sunday.

A native of Shanty Bay, Ontario, Owen is 5-6-0 in 12 appearances with the Thunder this season and leads the league with 375 saves while ranking fifth with 684 minutes played.

Owen has appeared in 72 career ECHL games with Stockton, Utah, Alaska, Florida and South Carolina posting an overall record of 26-28-10 with two shutouts, a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .899.

Prior to turning pro, he played two seasons with Moncton of the QMJHL, leading the team to the 2010 Memorial Cup Finals.
