Tulsa Center Jon Booras Named Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Week

TULSA, OK - Tulsa Oilers center Jon Booras has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for November 17-23.

Booras scored five goals in four games last week as the Oilers went 3-0-1 and moved into a tie for first place in the Central Division.

The 31-year old veteran scored once in Tulsa's 4-3 shootout loss at Quad City on Wednesday and followed up with a pair of goals in back-to-back games. Booras tallied twice in a 4-1 victory at Missouri last Friday and scored a shorthanded goal and a power play goal in a 3-2 triumph over Wichita on Sunday afternoon at the BOK Center.

Booras is tied for the ECHL lead with 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) and is tied for fourth in assists. A native of Billings, Montana, Booras has posted at least one point in five of his last six outings and leads all Oilers with eight multi-point games this season.

Now in his ninth season of pro hockey, Booras has 550 points (212 goals, 338 assists) in 550 career games. This season Booras is averaging 1.43 points per contest.

Booras and the Oilers are back on home ice tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Allen Americans on dollar hot-dog night at the BOK Center.

On behalf of Jon Booras, a case of pucks will be donated to a Tulsa youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
