Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that Mercer County native, LHP Steve Garrison, has been promoted to the Major League New York Yankees. The Yankees are scheduled to place Garrison on the active roster prior to tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. In corresponding moves, C Ryan Baker has been transferred off of the Thunder disabled list, while 3B Bradley Suttle has been placed on the Disabled List, retroactive to July 15th. The moves leave the Thunder 24-man active roster at one short of its maximum.
Garrison has started ten games for the Thunder this season, posting a record of 3-6 with a 6.26 ERA. A graduate of the Hun School in Princeton, Garrison tossed 46.0 innings and struck out 36 for Trenton in his eleven overall appearances.
Game two of the three-game series with the Erie Sea Wolves will take place on Tuesday night at 7:05 PM. The Thunder will give the pearl to LHP Shaeffer Hall (7-4, 4.20), while the SeaWolves will counter with LHP Jay Voss (5-4, 4.07). The SBLI Pre-Game show with Jay Burnham and Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR and trentonthunder.com.
