
Erie drops game two to Trenton 9-2

Erie got on the board first for the second straight day. Deik Scram started off the inning with a walk, followed by an Audy Ciriaco single up the middle moving Scram to third. Justin Henry grounded into a double play scoring Scram from third. SeaWolves 1 Thunder 0
Trenton answered right back in the bottom of the second to take the lead. Rob Lyerly led off the innings with a double to left field. Melky Mesa followed with an infield single putting runners on first and second. Zoilo Almonte crushed a ball out to left field that Henry could not get to plate Trenton's first run. After a Jose Pirela sac fly to right, plating another, Addison Maruszak singled in Almonte. Trenton 3 Erie 1
Erie trimmed the lead to one in the top of the sixth. With one out, Francisco Martinez singled to left. Rawley Bishop followed crushing a ball to the wall in centerfield to pick up his team leading 47 RBI. Trenton 3 Erie 2
Trenton added three runs in the seventh, all with two outs. Jay Voss issued a walk to Corban Joseph, and that ended his night. Brendan Wise came in and gave up four straight singles, which plated three runs. Trenton 6 Erie 2
Trenton added three more in the bottom of the eighth to take game two of the three game series. Trenton 9 Erie 2
The loss goes to Jay Voss (5-5) as he worked 6.2 innings allowing four runs on seven hits while walking two with four strike outs. Shaeffer Hall improved his record to (8-4) pitching eight innings, giving up two runs on five hits.
SeaWolves back in action Wednesday, 12:05 first pitch as LHP Ramon Garcia (3-3, 4.71 ERA) takes the mound. For Trenton Cory Arbiso (4-4, 5.27 ERA) gets the call. Erie looks to take the series in game three to get back into the win column.
