North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers jumped out early and never looked back in defeating the Corpus Christi Hooks 11-1 in front of 5,124 on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. The offense put up a five-run second inning punctuated by a three-run home run from Zach DeLoach. Starter Brandon Williamson threw 4.2 innings of no-hit shutout baseball. He issued just two walks and hit a batter while striking out nine before reaching his pitch limit. Alejandro Requena followed Williamson and pitched 2.1 scoreless frames to get the win.
Moments That Mattered
* Alex McKenna dropped a routine fly ball to centerfield with one out in the second inning aiding the Travs big inning. Bobby Honeyman followed with an RBI single and then Jack Larsen hit an RBI double before DeLoach blasted his home run with two out.
* The Travs put the game completely out of reach with a four-run fifth inning. There was only one hit in that inning as two Hooks pitchers walked four, hit a batter and their defense also committed another error.
