Bryan Warzek pitched 2.1 innings in the Tulsa Drillers loss Saturday night at Riverfront Stadium

WICHITA, KS - The bullpen was the hero for the Tulsa Drillers on Friday but that was not the case Saturday night against the Wichita Wind Surge. The Drillers turned to Jordan Martinson to make his first professional start and the Wichita bats exploded at Riverfront Stadium. The Wind Surge scored seven runs off Martinson and added six more for the game to top the Drillers 13-4.
The loss brings the Coors Light Propeller Series to a decisive winner-take-all game on Sunday afternoon.
BOX SCORE
The Drillers missed opportunities to score early, leaving five runners on base in the first two innings. Tulsa did score one run in the second on a sac fly from the bat of Michael Busch.
The Wind Surge answered, scoring eight runs in the second and third innings. Leobaldo Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the second for a 2-1 lead. Wichita added six more in the third on two RBI singles, a fielder's choice and a three-run homer from Andrew Bechtold for an 8-1 lead.
The Drillers missed another opportunity for runs in the fourth, leaving the bases loaded for the second time in the game.
Wichita scored their ninth run in the fourth on a sac fly with the bases loaded.
A double and a home run gave the Wind Surge three more runs in the fifth for a 12-1 lead.
Hunter Feduccia made some noise for Tulsa in the seventh with a two-run blast into the Drillers bullpen in right field, bringing the game to 12-3.
Spencer Steer added the final run for the Surge in the eighth, with a solo home run.
Ryan Noda added a fifth run for Tulsa in the eighth with a solo home run that was 106 MPH off the bat. It was his 26th homer of the season.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
*Noda had a perfect night at the plate Saturday night, going 3-3 with his home run and two walks.
*Devin Mann finished the game with three hits as well. Mann extended his hitting streak to seven games.
*The Drillers finished the game stranding 13 runners on base.
*Melvin Jimenez had the longest outing for the Drillers pitching staff, going 3.0 innings. He only gave up one run, lowering his ERA from 40.50 to 9.82
UP NEXT
The Coors Light Propeller Series comes down to a winner-take-all game in the 30th meeting between Tulsa and Wichita this season. The finale on Sunday afternoon will begin at 1:05 PM at Riverfront Stadium.
The pitching matchup is TBA for the Drillers against RHP Austin Schulfer (5-7, 4.22 ERA) for the Wind Surge.
