NORTH LITTLE ROCK - Zach DeLoach's two-out home run in the second inning Friday night capped a five-run frame as Arkansas dispatched Corpus Christi, 11-1, before a crowd of 5,124 at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Following the crooked number in the second, the home club tacked on a run in the third before sending 10 men to bat in the fifth, plating four runs with the benefit of only one hit.

Arkansas capitalized on seven walks, two hit batsmen, two errors and two additional misplays in the field. Brett Daniels was forced to exit after throwing 99 pitches in 4 1/3 innings.

Nick Hernandez logged 1 2/3 frames while outfielder Chandler Taylor toiled in the seventh and eighth. The lefty Taylor, making his professional debut on the mound, threw 13 of 21 pitches for strikes.

Corpus Christi's first hit was a two-out single by Enmanuel Valdez in the sixth.

Lefty Brandon Williamson was an out short of qualifying for the win, striking out nine over 4 2/3 innings.

Alejandro Requena finished the fifth and kept the Hooks off the board in the next two stanzas.

Facing Steven Moyers in the eighth, Joe Perez, Alex McKenna and David Hensley notched consecutive singles to get CC of the mat.

Hensley plated the lone Hooks run Thursday night.

With Corpus Christi mired in a five-game drought, Brandon Lawson takes the hill Saturday night. First pitch 6:10.
