ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Pawtucket Red Sox received a well-rounded pitching effort and a pair of big hits en route to a 5-2 win over the Rochester Red Wings on Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field.

After Saturday's game was postponed due to snow, the PawSox (10-11) responded Sunday to sweep the weather-shortened, two-game series with the Red Wings (8-14).

Catcher Juan Centeno (2-for-4, R, HR, 3 RBI) blasted a go-ahead, three-run homer that traveled 404 feet over the right-field bullpen in the eighth inning to break open what was a 2-2 game. Sam Travis had delivered a two-run single in the first inning to prop up Pawtucket to an early 2-0 advantage. Leadoff man Mike Miller continued his outstanding start to the season by walking two more times, singling once and raising his OPS to .913.

PawSox starter Mike Shawaryn worked through six innings of two-run ball. From there, Trevor Kelley (W, 2-1) tossed two clean innings and lowered his ERA to 0.93. Closer Jenrry Mejia (S, 5) buttoned up his fifth save with a scoreless ninth.

Rochester had tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning on a homer and sacrifice fly, but reliever Mike Morin (L, 0-1) served up the homer to Centeno in the eighth.

The PawSox now head further west to Buffalo to start a five-game, four-day series with the Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) - beginning Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Sahlen Field. PawSox right-hander Chandler Shepherd is scheduled to oppose Buffalo righty Sean Reid-Foley in the opener. Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM and 104.7 FM) and throughout the PawSox Radio Network begins with the pre-game show at 4:55 p.m.

Following the seven-game road trip, the PawSox return home Friday-Sunday (May 3-5) to host the Rochester Red Wings at McCoy Stadium. Good tickets are available, and fans can visit the McCoy Stadium box office, which is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m., and during all home games. Fans can also call (401) 724-7300 or log on to PawSox.com for tickets.
