CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Indians scored at least one run in eight of nine innings in a comeback series win against the Knights, 9-8, behind a four-hit day by Steven Baron and a ninth-inning home run from Erich Weiss.

Montana DuRapau (W, 1-1) got the win after throwing two hitless innings to end the game. The Tribe bullpen did not give up another hit following a three-run home run in the fifth, holding Charlotte to eight runs and giving the Indy offense an opportunity for the comeback win. Juan Minaya (L, 1-1)(BS, 1) struck out four in 2.1 innings but gave up the final two runs that sealed the win for the Indians.

Indy (12-10) jumped out to an early lead in the first inning on a wild pitch by Spencer Adams but couldn't hold it for long. In a game of back and forth scoring, Charlotte took a 2-1 lead in the second on a Matt Skole home run and a run scoring double play, but Baron scored to tie it up in the next half inning on a Franklin sacrifice fly.

The Knights (15-9) powered back to a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning, but the Indians inched their way back to a tie on a two-run double by Baron in the fourth and a sacrifice fly by Will Craig in the fifth. The tie wouldn't stand in the bottom of the fifth inning, as Ryan Goins hit a three-run shot off Jesus Lirazno over the wall in left field for an 8-5 Charlotte lead.

The Tribe bullpen was lights out while the offense went on a tear, scoring one run in each of the final four innings to slowly topple the Knights. Jake Elmore hit his ninth double of the season and Franklin hit his second home run of the road trip to bring Indy within one run. Baron's second double of the night put him in scoring position to begin a rally in the eighth, and with two outs and the bases loaded, a throwing error by shortstop Danny Mendick scored Baron easily to tie the game, 8-8. Weiss' two-out blast in the final frame proved to be the game-winner.

Baron had a career day, tying his single-game high in hits with four for the first time since 2017. He went 4-for-5 with two doubles and drove in two runs while scoring three himself.

The Indians return to Victory Field tomorrow to begin a seven-game homestand. They will open a three-game set with Columbus beginning at 7:05 p.m. ET.
