Two batter later Jeff Flagg singled home Vargas to make it 5-3.

Mueller came on after Scott Dunn gave the Beach Bums 3.2 scoreless frames out of the bullpen, tying a career high with six strikeouts. Matt Miller got Bobby Rinard to bounce into a double play to end the game for his ninth save of the year.

Trailing 3-1 in the fifth, Traverse City drew even as after a leadoff single by Brian Heere, Chase Burch lined a ball over the leftfield wall for a two-run homer and a 3-3 tie.

The Beach Bums jumped out in the first inning when with runners on first and second, Chase Burch singled through the left side to score Ryan Still who had walked to lead off the inning. Normal countered in the bottom of the frame when Tyler Wiesemeyer came in on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1-1.

The CornBelters took the lead in the third as a single by Wiesemeyer led off the inning followed by a triple off the bat of Bobby Rinard made it 2-1. Two batters later, Steven Felix singled home Rinard for a 3-1 Normal edge.
