Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Matt Padgett hit two homers, including a three-run shot in the seventh inning as the Albuquerque Isotopes rallied for a 10-9 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday night in front of 12,268 fans at Isotopes Park.
Down 9-3, Albuquerque began the comeback with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth, on Larry Sutton's 15th homer of the season. In the seventh, Drew Niles led off with a pinch hit single and following a Jason Wood double, scored on a Joe Dillon groundout, making the score 9-7. Sutton walked and Padgett launched his 15th homer of the season, giving the Isotopes a 10-9 lead. Juan Alvarez pitched a scoreless eighth and Mike Neu a perfect ninth for his 4th save of the season. Clint Sodowsky (6-2) earned the win with two scoreless innings in relief of starter Matt Blank.
Padgett's first homer was a two-run shot in the fourth inning, bringing the Isotopes back from a 5-0 deficit. The multi-homer game was the 2nd of the season for Padgett and 8th of the season for the Isotopes.
The Isotopes and Sky Sox will play the rubber match of the three-game series Saturday night, with first pitch at 7:11 PM. Post-game fireworks will follow.
