It was a great night for baseball if you like offense and homeruns as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox top the Albuquerque Isotopes 16-11 at Isotopes Park. The scoring came fast and furious as the Sox' and Isotopes both scored in 6 of their 9 trips to the plate. Sky Sox left fielder Jorge Piedra had a career night at the plate as he went 6-6 with 3 homeruns (in his first three at bats) with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI. Not to be out done, Isotope short stop Derek Wathan hit for the cycle going 4-6 with 3 runs and 3 RBI of his own. The only pitcher to have any success was Sky Sox reliever Alex Herrera. Herrera went 3.0 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits while striking out 5. The Sox and 'Topes go at it again on Friday night beginning at 7:11 from Albuquerque.
